MISO SOUP
 
 
  • 2 cups of boiling hot water
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of miso paste (amount is to taste)
  • dried shrimp (you can also use fresh)
  • 1-2 shitake mushrooms (fresh or dried)
  • 1-2 button mushrooms
  • 1/2 tomato
  • 5 basil leaves
  • bean sprouts
  • tofu stips
  • bok choy leaf (diced)
  • diced bell pepper (red, orange or yellow for color)
  • cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • hot sauce (to taste)
  • Dried seaweed flakes (to taste)
Mix all ingredients  above in a containder with a top.  Feel free to modify the quantity of any ingredient or leave out any that you dislike.  The flavor comes from the mushrooms, shrimp and miso mostly so feel free to adjust to your taste buds.
 
 
Pour the boiling water over the ingredients.  Cover and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
